The House of Dawda group was established in 1962 with the inception of a small trading activity in Kenya by the Founder and Chairman, Mr. Hasmukh Dawda. Sensing the vast opportunities of a yet unexploited economy, the group ventured into manufacturing biscuits, bread, fruit juices and several other sectors.

The Group had a strong business presence in cotton, cosmetics, hardware, pharmaceutical distribution, etc. In a bid to focus on our core strength of foods manufacturing, areview of the business was carried out and a number of reorganization measures taken leading to discontinuation of the non-core activities.

Middle of 2002, the Group affiliated itself with the Luxembourg based FI Holding Company which has interests in Africa and many other countries. The group name now stands changed to FI Holding-House of Dawda Group.

The Company’s activities and its leadership thinking are based on a comprehensive and strategic vision of the Group. F.I. Holding-House of Dawda Group is ever committed to take on the challenges that lie ahead with the same level of optimism and enthusiasm that has brought us this far.
The eventful history of the Group would never have resulted in such positive outcome without the exceptional contribution from dedicated people throughout the years. Our people, capital and reputation are our main assets. The combined strength of managers, sales personnel, administrators, engineers, technicians, operators and skilled specialists exceeds 1000 excluding the casual staff.

Our mission is leadership through excellence. While individual creativity is encouraged, teamwork comes first in all we do. We believe that it is our workforce that makes all the difference in what we are today and therefore we are committed to create a work environment where there is mutual trust and respect. Training and development is a rule rather than an exception.
