Lake George or Lake Dweru is a shallow lake in the East Africa (Uganda ) located in the Great Rift Valley on the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It covers a total surface area of 250 km² and is a part of Africa’s Great Lakes system but is not itself considered one of the Great Lakes. Like the other lakes in the region it was named after a member of the British Royal family, in this case Prince George, later who became King George V. Lake George drains to the southwest into Lake Edward through the Kazinga Channel.
This positions Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge with a great view of the lake with a magnificent sunrise from the East, natural vegetation and a large variety of bird species offering a great experience for bird watching and an eco friendly compound and facilities matching with the wilderness in Queen Elizabeth.
