Radio One was founded in 1997. Our program format is “Great Songs…Great Memories”. Music played is targeted to adult listeners and is aimed at resonating their good “memories”. Besides music we have a very popular talkshow, Spectrum. The topics discussed are varied but pertinent to the listenership. Our radio signal is dominant in the four biggest towns in Uganda; Kampala, Jinja, Masaka and Entebbe. This area represents 80% of Uganda’s purchasing power and 90% of vehicle traffic in Uganda.
Our target audience is urban and peri-uban English-speaking adults who could be middle-income household heads/parents, commuter listeners in the heavy traffic periods and shoppers during our outside broadcast promotions.
